How to get to Ruhr University Bochum

Arrival by car [map]

Use the reserved P9 car park beneath the event centre. Address: Universitatsstraße 150, 44801 Bochum. The central underground car park is located beneath the campus. Take exit "Uni-Mitte". Maximum clearance height is 1.95 m. The access code for the car park is 4630# (note the #).

Arrival by public transport [map]

From Bochum Hauptbahnhof, you can reach the Ruhr-Universitat by taking the U-Bahn U35 (CampusLinie).

​Note: Due to repair work at short notice, U 35 will NOT stop at "Ruhr Universität"! Instead, please get off at "Gesundheitscampus" or, better, "Lennershof" and walk approx. 10-15 min.  These are the stations before or after the Ruhr Universität stop. Alternative public transportation by bus is available, but we do not recommend it. Please follow the walkway from Lennershof along the ID to IA building. You will then see blue signs on the floor that guide you up a spiraling stair onto the main N-S axis of the university. You will then see the blue signs on the floor that guide you south to the convention center.

Plenary Hall for Opening ceremony & Plenary keynotes [map]

The opening ceremony (Monday) and the plenary keynotes (Monday through Wednesday) take place in the IA building (Geosciences) in lecture theatre HIC.

From the convention center walk back in the direction of the U-Bahn station and then turn righ towards the building IA. You enter the IA building on level IAE0 Süd.

Take two stairs down until you reach level IAE02 Süd. Now turn left and follow the "Magistrate" that connects all N buildings. Cross IA, then IB and then take another stair down in ICE03 Süd. Go straight and then find the signs for the HIC plenary hall towards the right. You walk about 300 m within the IA through IC buildings. It will take you approximately 7-8 minutes from the convention center to HIC. We will place signs along the way.
